The UAE visa denial rate for US citizens was about ten percent less than most developed countries; however, the two main reasons for rejected applicants have been cited as the mistakes made while submitting applications and issues related to the bank statements.
Monaz Billimoria, the regional head of VFS Global, advises candidates to check the necessary information before applying for a visa, as some of the most common mistakes noticed in applications include personal information about the candidate, VisaGuide.World reports.
“Incorrect data in the visa application form, such as name (as in the passport), passport number, and date of birth, are common mistakes. Sponsor information, which is crucial to the visa decision, is also often incorrect,” Billimoria said.
The same said that travellers often leave their visa applications until the last minute or too close to the date of travel, and in order to avoid inconveniences, candidates are advised to apply early.
Another common mistake that applicants make includes bank statements, which often are not provided by candidates. That is considered an error that happens often and can also result in the authorities denying an application instantly.
“Book an appointment online for free on the VFS Global website, and do not fall for third-party entities posing as VFS Global partners who offer early appointments for a fee. Apply for your visa well in advance; most countries accept applications 3-6 months ahead of the intended date of travel,” advised the VFS Global’s regional head.
In general, the US visa rejection rates in 2022 were the highest in Afghanistan, with 53 per cent of American applicants being rejected, while the second highest rejection rate was from the Pakistani authorities (31 per cent).
Other countries with higher rejection rates for US citizens were Norway (17 percent), UK (16 percent), Saudi Arabia (14 percent), Philippines (12 percent), Singapore (ten percent), UAE (ten percent), India (seven percent) and Hong Kong (five percent). On the other hand, Monaco had a zero percent rejection rate in 2022.
In general, there are several reasons why authorities usually deny applications. Schengen authorities usually reject visa applications for reasons like past and current criminal actions, false travel documents, insufficient explanation for the purpose of travelling and planned stay, damaged passport and expired documents, lack of proof of the travel itinerary, invalid letter of reference and insufficient financial means of applicants to support themselves while staying in the Schengen zone.
Other reasons include unacceptable birth or marriage certificates, invalid travel insurance and an unfavourable Schengen visa situation.
